San Francisco Aquarium of the Bay
Located at the end of Pier 59 at Embarcadero & Beach Street in San Francisco, the aquarium is working to educate and protect the marine life of the San Francisco Bay and the water and animals that flow in and around this area. The aquarium is made up of three equally divided areas, referred to as Under the Bay, Discover the Bay and Touch the Bay. The aquarium is located in a 50,000 square foot building with as many as 20,000 different kinds of animals.
While visiting the aquarium you can take in a 3D movie or documentary (it may require an additional ticket) that enhances your experience. Kids and adults alike will be captivated by learning about the many animals that call San Francisco Bay their home. Be sure to visit the touch pools, where guests of the aquarium can touch Leopard Sharks, Swell Sharks, Big Skates and Juvenile Bat Rays.
