Fishermans Wharf

Fisherman's Wharf San Francisco, CA

Make a casual day of walking the boardwalks of Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier 39. Once a famous hub during the boom of San Francisco’s fishing industry, Fisherman’s Wharf San Francisco, CA is now a lively waterfront stretch for boutique shopping, delectable dining, and exciting street entertainment. Visit the outdoor courtyard of the old peach cannery to enjoy a quick snack or gourmet meal or peruse local art galleries while listening to live music. Fisherman’s Wharf still hosts “Fish Alley”—a fresh fish market place where you can see your soon-to-be dinner being transferred from vessel to vendor!

Pier 39 is most famous for their sea of sea lions that crowd the docks. In winter locals and tourists can see upwards of 900 sea lions squawking and taking in the rays. Not only will you see a sea lion at Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier 39, but ride one! A sea lion is only one of the San Francisco themed “carousel horses” depicted on Pier 39’s two-story handmade Italian carousel.  Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier 39 have something for everyone!

After a day of enjoying bay area activities, come home to our San Francisco bed and breakfast inn.
