Keep the ticket handy as you will need to use the same ticket to exit at 24th Street stop, where it will determine the distance you travelled and the fare you owe. If you have paid $8.05 it will keep the ticket and open the turnstile so you may exit. If you have put more money than $8.05 it will return the ticket to you with the balance available. Note that the trains run on average every 15 minutes up to midnight. During rush hours it may run more frequently, during off peak times it may run more slowly.
The exact time of the ride is 24 minutes to our closest station at "24th Street". If you exit at our next station, "16th Street" the fare is more.
Once you exit the station on the surface, you may walk east along 24th Street, (it is the side that has the MacDonald's, if you are walking up hill on 24th St you are going west, the opposite direction).
