Romantic Weekend in San Francisco

SF Activities

Thinking of a romantic getaway in San Francisco but want some assistance planning your itinerary? We’ve put together a few ideas to get you started on your romantic San Francisco adventure!

Check into the Inn San Francisco and get the keys to your perfect room as your home base for the weekend.

With more than 140 restaurants within 10 blocks of our inn, there are endless options for a romantic dinner. Chinese, Italian, French, Vegan, and everything in between are all available for your first night out in San Francisco. Be sure to stop by our front desk and ask for our neighborhood dining map to find that perfect spot and enjoy a lovely stroll along the rolling San Francisco streets with your partner.

Rise and shine to the smell of a delicious and fresh baked breakfast at the Inn San Francisco! You’re free to join our other guests in the double parlors, or take it back up to your room for more privacy, or if it’s warm enough we recommend eating out on our rooftop sundeck or in the English Garden.

After breakfast, everything’s coming up roses with a trip to the Conservatory of Flowers! Though, if you are coming on the first Tuesday of the month, admittance to the conservatory is free for everyone. Take your time through the gardens to explore wide range of exotic plants and flowers before heading back out into Golden Gate Park.

Golden Gate Park is perfect for a romantic mid-morning stroll, or you may wish to visit the de Young Museum or Japanese Tea Garden!

Finally, enjoy nature’s romantic ambiance on a sunset sail around the bay! This hour and a half ride is the perfect way to see the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco’s stunning skyline on a romantic water excursion. You’ll receive two complimentary beverages—beer, wine, or a soft drink, and some light hors d’oeuvres during your sail.

On Sunday morning, either enjoy another scrumptious breakfast at the inn or experience delight with a delicious brunch at one of our nearby restaurants. You’re on a romantic vacation; it’s fine to have champagne for breakfast, even if it’s mixed with orange juice! Foreign Cinema is a popular destination with its varied menu and unique finds like champagne, chicken sausages or the yummy croquet madame.

Then, jump on a cable car for a great tour of San Francisco! Depending on the line you take, you can see Lombard Street, the Russian Hill, Nob Hill, Chinatown, and Financial District neighborhoods, or Alcatraz, Coit Tower, and the Golden Gate Bridge. Our cable cars are National Historical Monuments that are on the move!

Stop and tour some of these impressive areas or go visit the Fortune Cookie Factory in Chinatown for good luck! If it’s iconic photos you’re after, head over to Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier 39 to see the sunbathing sea lions, stunning views of the bay, or take a ride on a sea lion on the carousel.

At night, make your way to Top of the Mark for cocktails with a view! With an impressive list of signature martinis and an unparalleled view of the city’s twinkling lights, you might just have to stay for two or three drinks before making your way to a dinner location. Or, you could always skip dinner and head to Ghirardelli Square for an amazing sundae or hot chocolate dessert!

Come back on down for breakfast before checking out or talk to our front desk staff to see if you can extend your stay!
