The Best Outdoor Dining Patios in the Mission District

It’s no secret that San Francisco’s Mission District is home to some of the best restaurants in town. But aside from the food, half the fun is pairing it with a great outdoor patio. From dining al-fresco to roof-top views, here are the best outdoor dining patios in the Mission District.

Foreign Cinema

Enjoy an evening amongst the city lights sitting outside on the large patio at Foreign Cinema. Savor a top-notch charcuterie or delectable oysters and sit back and watch a film projected on the back wall of the spacious patio. Even their brunch is one of the best in the city, offering a bloody mary to die for.

El Techo

Take in the views atop the roof-top restaurant at the all-alfresco El Techo. Offering Latin American street eats and creative cocktails, this vibrant atmosphere will want to make you stay all day. Seats are highly coveted so plan to wait for the perfect outdoor dining spot.

The Sycamore

More of a bar than a restaurant, the Sycamore is a lively hangout that features bottomless mimosas at brunch, craft beer, tasty food, and a spacious patio. The patio is tucked in the back with bench-style seating, colorful murals decorating the walls, and green plants. They keep it simple with the food menu by offering classics like BLT sliders, grilled cheese sandwiches, along with a brunch menu served on the weekends. But really who is coming for the food, their patio is the most popular item on the menu.

Mission Bowling Club

Eat, drink, and play at the Mission Bowling Club. With six lanes of bowling, a full bar, delicious food, and a vibrant outdoor patio it will be hard to determine if you want to stay inside or outside.

Beretta

A long-time favorite of the Mission District, Beretta is an Italian classic dishing out authentic Margherita pizzas and pasta dishes. In addition to dinner, they also do a delicious brunch and a popular happy hour. And while the indoor dining is delightful, the outdoor patio is exceptional, complete with lights, trees, and the vibe of the Mission pulsing through the center of it all.

Atlas Cafe

For something a bit more relaxed and oftentimes with live music, stop in at the Atlas Cafe. The unpretentious cafe serves up soups, salads, sandwiches, and pizza. They also bring in local favorites such as Stumptown Coffee, Dynamo Donuts, and Anthony’s Cookies. You can choose from their cozy patio or sidewalk seating, plus indoor dining as well.
